Sideboard plans with Pyroblast
- Sligh vs. Stiflenought. In: all three Overload, Mogg Salvage, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast and Pyrostatic Pillar.
- Sligh vs. Landstill, Psychatog and Stasis. Against all three, in: Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast and Pyrostatic Pillar.
- Sligh vs. UG Madness, Replenish, Gro-a-Tog and Aluren. Against all four, in: Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast; out: both Goblin Patrol.
- Sligh vs. The Solution, Dromar Control and Tron. Against all three, in: Anarchy, Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast; out: both Goblin Patrol and Reckless Abandon.
- Sligh vs. The Black Vise build. Nick Moran's 15 from the BCDL Open 5: four Pyroblast, four Overload, three Earthquake, two Price of Progress and two Anarchy. Against Landstill, Psychatog, Stasis, Replenish, Dromar Control and The Solution, in: all four Pyroblast; out: all four Seal of Fire. Against Stiflenought, in: all four Pyroblast and all four Overload; out: all four Seal of Fire, both Price of Progress, which does nothing against Islands, and both Cursed Scroll. Against UG Madness, Gro-a-Tog and Aluren, in: all four Pyroblast; out: all four Black Vise, which does little against decks that empty their hand.
- Goblins vs. Stiflenought, Landstill and Psychatog. Many lists play Pyroblast instead, which does the same against blue spells.
- Terrageddon vs. Stiflenought, Landstill and Stasis. In: Red Elemental Blast, Pyroblast and two Aura of Silence.
- Terrageddon vs. Psychatog, UG Madness and graveyard decks. Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast destroy Psychatog and counter Circular Logic, and Tormod's Crypt removes Wonder, which the Blasts cannot touch in the graveyard, or a Reanimator target.
- RG Zoo vs. Stiflenought, Landstill, Psychatog, UG Madness, Stasis, Gro-a-Tog, Tron, Rebels, The Solution, Dromar Control and Replenish. Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast, in almost every sideboard and usually two of each, counter a blue spell or destroy a blue permanent for one red mana: Counterspell, Stifle, Circular Logic, Mana Leak, Standstill, Stasis, Psychatog, Aquamoeba, Lightning Angel, Shadowmage Infiltrator or Attunement. Pyroblast can target any spell or permanent and does nothing if it is not blue; Red Elemental Blast needs a blue target.
- The Solution vs. Stiflenought, Stasis and Turbo Lands. Next to the core it plays four Lightning Bolt, three Fire // Ice, three Portent and two each of Counterspell, Mana Leak, Miscalculation, Impulse and Fact or Fiction; the sideboard is three Tormod's Crypt, two Seal of Cleansing, two Pyroclasm, two Phyrexian Furnace, Worship, Warmth, Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast, Hydroblast and Blue Elemental Blast. Against all three, in: Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast and both Seal of Cleansing; out: all four Lightning Bolt, which have no good target here: Phyrexian Dreadnought is too big, Stasis plays no creatures and Chill makes red spells cost two more, and Glacial Chasm prevents the damage to a Turbo Lands player.
- The Solution vs. Landstill, Tron, Aluren and MUD. Against Landstill, Tron and Aluren, in: Pyroblast, Red Elemental Blast and both Seal of Cleansing; out: two Lightning Bolt and two Portent.
- The Solution vs. Psychatog, Dromar Control, Gro-a-Tog and UG Madness. Against all four, in: Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast; out: two Portent.
- The Solution vs. Replenish and Fluctuator. Against both, in: all three Tormod's Crypt, both Seal of Cleansing, Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast; out: all four Lightning Bolt and the three Portent.
- The Solution vs. Other red builds and the white-blue build. The newest red list on MTGTop8, Magicecs83's (top four of 12 at an Eternal League event in Italy, 1 October), plays two Disenchant in the main deck and boards four Galina's Knight, three Annul, three Hydroblast, two Pyroblast, two Pyroclasm and a third Disenchant.
- Turbo Lands vs. Stiflenought, Psychatog, Landstill, Stasis, Replenish, UG Madness, Gro-a-Tog, Tron and Rebels. Pyroblast or Red Elemental Blast, in most sideboards, counters a blue spell or destroys a blue permanent for one red mana: Counterspell, Stasis, Psychatog or Meddling Mage. Defense Grid makes every spell cost {3} more unless it is cast during its caster's own turn: their counters cost three more on your turn, but so do your Crop Rotation and Pyroblast on theirs.
