Free for every Premodern tournament. You get a page of your own on Premodern Chronicles and a place in the list of upcoming tournaments. More than 5,300 people visit the site every month, most of them on their phone.

How it works

  1. Submit your tournament: fill in the fields, preview your page, send it in.
  2. We review it within two days and put it online.
  3. Your page is live: we email you the address. Changes stay free.

Prices

Nothing is charged before we have approved your tournament. Your page stays online until the day of the event, and in the archive after it.

What you can set up

Always on your page: title image (your photo or a Premodern card), name, date and times, venue and address with a map link, entry fee, proxy policy, register button, short description, organizer and contacts. Add what you have: about the tournament, prizes, schedule, rules and decklist, registration details, qualification, side events, venue and travel, stream and sponsors. Every block you leave empty simply disappears.

Questions

What does it cost? Nothing. A listing is free. Featured costs €5: your tournament stays at the top of the list until the day of the event, and we post it in a story on Instagram. Charity events get Featured for free.

When is my page online? We review every submission within two days and put your page online as soon as we have approved it. If you picked Featured, our email brings a payment link, and your tournament moves to the top the day the payment arrives.

Can I change something later? Yes, free of charge. Send the change with your reference number through the contact form.

What if the tournament is cancelled? Tell us and the page stays up with a clear notice so players see it. If you postpone, we move the date.

Why do featured pages say Promoted? Featured is paid, and paid pages must be marked as such under Austrian media law. The small badge and a line at the bottom of the page do that. Free listings carry no badge.

The Format

What is Premodern?

Premodern is a Magic: The Gathering format played with cards from Fourth Edition through Scourge (1995–2003), the game's golden era. It captures the feel of early competitive Magic: iconic old-border cards, meaningful decisions and a rich, interactive metagame, free of the power creep of later sets.

How it plays

Premodern doesn't rotate and never gets new cards, so decks change when the banlist does or when someone finds a use for an old card. Survival of the Fittest, for example, is banned in Legacy but legal here, and Full English Breakfast is built around it. Our tier list has aggro like Goblins and Sligh, control like Landstill and Stasis, combo like Replenish and Enchantress, and midrange like The Rock.

Most of these made games too fast or too one-sided. Brainstorm and Force of Will are banned so blue decks play differently than in Legacy, and the ante cards are obviously banned.

Corrections to a decklist, a tournament result we have missed, or anything else: use the contact form or reach us on Instagram. What you send through the form is stored on our own server (message, reply address, the page it was sent from, and a shortened hash of your IP address to limit abuse) for as long as it takes to deal with it, and is forwarded to us as a private notification. Nothing is shared with third parties.
