Sideboard plans with Annul
- Stiflenought vs. Enchantress. In: three Annul and both Brain Freeze. Annul counters Parallax Wave, Solitary Confinement, Opalescence and Enchantress's Presence for one mana (Argothian Enchantress is a creature), and the two main-deck Chain of Vapor return a resolved lock piece once Sterling Grove is gone.
- Stiflenought vs. Replenish. In: three Annul. Annul counters Opalescence, Parallax Wave and Attunement; keep Counterspell and Foil for Replenish itself, which is a sorcery.
- Stiflenought vs. Stasis. In: three Annul and both Brain Freeze. Annul counters Stasis itself and Black Vise, and Brain Freeze plus Vision Charm's mill pressure their library, which Gaea's Blessing protects in about half their lists.
- Stiflenought vs. Oath of Druids and MUD. In: three Annul and both Back to Basics. Against Oath, Annul counters Oath of Druids and Sphere; against MUD it counters Sphere, Winter Orb, Tangle Wire and every other artifact they cast, though not what Tinker puts onto the battlefield.
- Stiflenought vs. Landstill. In: three Annul and Misdirection. Annul counters Standstill, Humility and their Powder Keg, and Misdirection turns Swords to Plowshares onto one of their creatures.
- Stiflenought vs. Mono Black, The Rock, Pit Rack and Contamination. In: three Annul and Misdirection. Annul counters Mono Black's Cursed Scroll, Phyrexian Arena and sideboard Powder Keg, The Rock's Pernicious Deed, Pit Rack's The Rack, Cursed Scroll and Bottomless Pit, and Contamination itself.
- Stiflenought vs. Aluren and Fluctuator. In: three Annul. Annul counters Aluren and Survival of the Fittest, or Fluctuator, for one mana, and keeps Daze, Foil and Thwart free for the spells that finish the combo.

Against Elves: three Totem, two Annul for Survival of the Fittest and, in some lists, Tangle Wire, and Root Maze in; three Portent, two Black Vise and Flash of Insight out. Against Full English Breakfast: three Totem and three Annul in; three Portent, two Black Vise and Root Maze out. Against Aluren: three Totem and three Annul in; three Portent, a Fire // Ice, Flash of Insight and Root Maze out.
- Stasis vs. MUD, The Solution, Deadguy Ale, Dromar Control and Reanimator. Against MUD: three Annul, both Blasts for Goblin Welder and Root Maze in; three Portent, two Impulse and Flash of Insight out. - UG Madness vs. Stiflenought and artifact combo. Annul counters a Dreadnought (an artifact) for one mana; Waterfront Bouncer returns a resolved one to hand and doubles as another discard outlet.
- Tron vs. Enchantress, Replenish, Stasis, MUD, Oath of Druids and Fluctuator. Disenchant and Annul handle single pieces; Akroma's Vengeance destroys every artifact, creature and enchantment at once, your own Spheres and Masticore included, and cycles when you do not need it.
- The Solution vs. Other red builds and the white-blue build. The newest red list on MTGTop8, Magicecs83's (top four of 12 at an Eternal League event in Italy, 1 October), plays two Disenchant in the main deck and boards four Galina's Knight, three Annul, three Hydroblast, two Pyroblast, two Pyroclasm and a third Disenchant. Annul, in almost half the red sideboards since April, counters Phyrexian Dreadnought, Stasis, Aluren, Opalescence, Oath of Druids or Fluctuator and can take Seal of Cleansing's place in the plans above; Galina's Knight, a 2/2 with protection from red, comes in against Sligh, Goblins and RG Zoo. The white-blue build has no red cards and boards Annul, Tormod's Crypt, Worship, Wrath of God, Hydroblast and Blue Elemental Blast instead.
