Premodern archetypes that play Sylvan Library
- Terrageddon: Free card selection every turn, plus two extra cards for 4 life each when a card is worth it. Against Sligh and Burn, stop paying life or side it out.
- Oath of Druids: In almost every list, usually three copies, and the deck's main card selection: draw two extra cards each turn and pay 4 life for each one you keep, or put it back. It digs for the missing Oath, Sphere or land destruction spell.
- RG Zoo: Two mana for card selection every turn: in your draw step you may draw two extra cards, then put two of the cards drawn this turn back on top of your library or pay 4 life for each you keep. Against control the extra cards are worth the life; against burn, use it only to choose your draw.
