Premodern archetypes that play Parallax Wave
- Enchantress: Remove a fade counter to exile a creature until Wave leaves the battlefield; it enters with five and loses one in each of your upkeeps. It clears blockers for the Opalescence attack, can exile your own animated enchantments in response to removal once Opalescence is out and Sterling Grove is not, and attacks as a 4/4 under Opalescence.
- Replenish: Exiles a creature for a fade counter and no mana, at instant speed, and loses a counter in each of your upkeeps. When the Wave leaves the battlefield, every card it exiled comes back, though exiled tokens are gone for good; only an exile that resolves after the Wave is gone lasts, which is the trick in Play tips.
