- Mono Black vs. Goblins and Elves. Against Goblins, in: all four Engineered Plague, Vendetta, Spinning Darkness and Powder Keg; out: all four Duress, both Nantuko Shade and a Withered Wretch. Vendetta kills Goblin Lackey for {B} and 1 life before it connects, and Keg on one counter destroys every creature with mana value 1. Against Elves, in: all four Engineered Plague, Powder Keg, Vendetta and Spinning Darkness; out: all four Duress, both Knight of Stromgald and a Diabolic Edict. Plague naming Elf kills their Elves with toughness 1 and Deranged Hermit, though its four Squirrels still arrive as 1/1s, which Plaguebearer destroys for {B} each; Vendetta kills Masticore, which cannot regenerate from it, for 4 life.
