Premodern archetypes that play Exhume
- Reanimator: Two mana and no life, but each player returns a creature card from their own graveyard, and both creatures enter at the same time: a Man-o'-War in their graveyard returns yours to your hand, and a Gilded Drake takes it. If they exile your only creature card in response, you get nothing and they still get theirs. Check their graveyard first and cast Exhume when it is empty or your creature is clearly better.
